A benediction is a “good word” given at the closing of a service of worship that serves as a blessing and charge for the congregation. It’s important to bless and send in the power of the Divine Name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You can use these benedictions throughout the entire season of Ordinary Time.
Benediction | Ephesians 4:25-5:2
May be used throughout the whole season
LEADER: As you go from this place, put away falsehood and lies,
ALL: Speak truth in grace that it may build up those who hear.
LEADER: Put away greed and indifference, for we are members of one another.
ALL: Produce good things that you may give to those in need.
LEADER: Put away anger, wrath, and bitterness toward one another.
ALL: Forgive each other just as God, in Christ, forgave you.
LEADER: Put away self centeredness and be imitators of God, as beloved children.
ALL: Walk in love, even as Christ loved and gave himself up for us.
LEADER: Go in peace as a living sacrifice offered up to God,
